90 Days to Health Challenge

Phew!

It is Sunday night and I just finished watching a bunch of videos that my Live True friend and guru, Rachel, shared with me.  It got me all excited to continue swapping out the crap in my pantry for good stuff.  Then my Eat Fresh in the City friend shared a 90 Days to Health Challenge with me and I jumped at it.  I figure these two women are the cleanest eaters in my world and I can learn a lot from them.  So, I will!

Now, to clarify, this isn't 100% about losing weight.  I would be lying if I said it wasn't at least 85% about losing weight, though.  A year ago it would have been 100%.  My thinking has shifted.  In fact, yesterday I texted Rachel and said, "I'm doing it - I'm letting go of the scale."  The number isn't what matters - it is eating without guilt because I am eating what makes me feel good and healthy.  I'm learning - slowly but surely!

Now, I need to define what "health" is to me.  My answer today is different than it would have been a year ago.  Now I see health as the combination of Body, Mind, and Spirit.  If I have an awesome body, but my Mind and Spirit are lacking, what good does it do me?  There are wonderful things to read out there that inspire.  Instead of watching crap TV, my focus during these 90 days is to take the time to read some wonderful books.  I also intend to ensure that my Spirit is nourished by reading the scriptures, the Ensign, and other materials that are meaningful to me.
They say it takes 21 days to create a habit.  I wonder what my habits will be like after 90 days.  I wonder who I will be after 90 days.  I can't wait to meet myself.
