Just for clarification, I am writing all of these things primarily for myself. I am a storyteller by nature and genetics, and I want to tell this story about my process to choosing a plant-based diet. Some of what I share, I share because it is my experience. Other stuff I share, I share because I find it thought-provoking and interesting. The only thing I strongly advocate is that if you are in poor health, do the research and decide what makes sense for you. I choose not to eat animal meat or animal based foods at this time largely because of the way it is grown and processed, and because I have felt 100% better NOT eating it than I have, well, ever in my life. If you choose to eat all of these foods and you feel good, great! If I am ever in a famine and don't have other options, I will evaluate my eating at that time. Eating a plant based diet has helped me to have energy, sleep better, and I have lost weight that I absolutely need to lose. Following high protein animal diets caused me to feel shaky and cranky.
At least you don't have to listen to me ramble on about politics.
Q. Do vegetarians eat animal crackers?
ReplyDeleteA. Well I don't if they contain corn, soy or gluten. ;)
I love that you share your experiences because it helps me to hear about what others are going through as I go through my own veganish journey.
You know, one in four women in the United States will die from heart disease. I am so glad that you are doing what you need to in order to grow old with your family, and your friends like me. (((HUGS)))
